Chris Hawkey, the self-described luckiest man in the world, followed his dreams and rose from his small town beginnings to radio and country music stardom. He is a producer and co-host of one of KFAN's most popular shows, "Power Trip Morning Show," and he records and performs around the country with the Chris Hawkey Band.
What personality trait or skill do you consider your greatest asset?
I guess I'd say that I am an eager friend. I want to like you and I want you to like me. If you go into every room with that purpose then you can usually leave the room feeling good and leave the people feeling as if they matter to you. I try not to be too obsessive about this, because I have learned that there are people who have no desire to be friendly. But most people do.
What does the world need more of?
Altruism. From individual to individual, world power to world power, leader to leader, if we truly thought and cared about the ways in which our actions affect others then humanity could move forward in giant leaps and unnecessary suffering could end. I'll never understand why the mega rich need more at the expense of everything else. I have NO PROBLEM with rich people getting richer, I just don't understand why someone who has so much will continue to take more in the face of what is right.
