We all need more of the arts in our lives; a creative outlet for expression. It puts things into perspective, allows us to reconnect and brings inner contentment. The benefits of arts for people with special needs are especially undeniable and we need not look far for modern day artists with disabilities for inspiration. From movies to song, and paint to dance, these are just a couple of the many tools we can utilize to build fine motor and problem solving skills, enhance communication, and provide motivation and self-esteem to succeed. We've been completely inspired by this Duluth artist, Stephanie Wilcox. She is an outstanding student at CHOICE, unlimited (A Duluth day program), and a true leader in her community, hosting her own art shows throughout the state and selling her work.
